Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati have given statements regarding the selection of the funeral site and memorial of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Both the leaders surrounded the central government and said that there should be no politics in this matter. Akhilesh Yadav wrote on the social media platform 'X' late Friday night, 'The tradition of respect should be followed in the context of the tomb of the former Prime Minister of the country (Manmohan Singh). There is no need for any politics on this subject, nor should there be.'

Akhilesh Yadav said, "Dr. Manmohan Singh's samadhi should be built at Rajghat only. BJP should not present an inappropriate example of its narrow thinking. History will never forgive BJP for its negative attitude."

Memorial should be built wherever the family says- Mayawati

Former Chief Minister Mayawati also gave advice through a post on 'X' on Saturday and said that the central government should perform the last rites of the country's first Sikh Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at the same place and build a memorial in his honor at the same place where his family wishes. Mayawati said, ‘It is not right to do any politics for this. In these matters, if the central government respects the sentiments of his family and the Sikh community, then it will be appropriate.’
