He further said, 'IMD data shows a broad trend of rising temperatures and erratic weather patterns in India. The year 2024 saw the longest period of hot winds and irregular rainfall.'

At the press briefing, IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mahapatra also stressed the need for climate action. IMD emphasized the importance of taking immediate and coordinated action to mitigate the effects of climate change.
