Ternate Island:  Flash floods following torrential rains on Indonesia’s eastern Ternate island killed 11 people on Sunday. Search and rescue teams working with residents have recovered 10 bodies in Rua village in North Maluku province. The team is working to recover another body, according to Bram Madya Temara, an official with the island’s search and rescue agency. The flash floods swept away residential areas and reduced dozens of buildings and homes to rubble.

At present, a large number of people are stranded in floods at various places, and all of them are being rescued. In Indonesia, the army has also been deployed to rescue people trapped in floods.
