Reportedly, CNN has earned its information from two Israeli officials, who suggest that Hamas is likely to release 33 refusers as part of the ceasefire-refuser deal, which is previously being negotiated and sought in Doha regarding the Gaza conflict. Israel firmly believes that a vast majority of them are still alive, though some releases may consist of captives who might have died. Currently around 94 people are still in the hands of Hamas and its allies, including at least 34 People who were abducted during the attacks on the 7th of October of 2023.

A source engaged in these truce negotiations stated that they are due to meet in a day’s time in Doha for the last batch of negotiations, according to CNN. Once this portion of the hostage period is completed, these negotiations are likely to continue in 16 days and the intention of the second round of negotiations would be to put an end to the ongoing war.

As reported by CNN, the most recent agreements stipulate that Israeli forces were to be stationed in the Philadelphi Corridor that lies within the Egypt-Gaza border dispute but only during the first stage, and there have also been controversies as to how large a buffer zone can be erected within Gaza. Hamas, on the other hand, seeks a 300-500 meter zone whereas Israel wants a 2000 meters zone.

The plan also features the return of civilians from northern Gaza but oral restraints will be in place as a defensive measure. Furthermore, any Palestinian prisoners involved in the killings of Israelis will not be transferred to the West bank but instead to Gaza or any foreign country along the lines of what an Israeli official mentioned to CNN.

As outlined by CNN, the breakthrough during the negotiations transpired on late Sunday during the ongoing meeting between Israeli Mossad Director David Barnea and mediators in Doha. However, according to an Israeli official it was also made clear that an agreement would be unilateral and would still have to go through security and government cabinets, while taking into consideration possible legal actions to the supreme court.

Media reports suggest that the Israeli military has already killed over 46,565 Palestinians, while the number of the injured has crossed 100,000. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, these incidents occurred during the ongoing siege within a span of Go to the Ukrainian crisis: Exiled...".

” There are comments that an agreement will be reached in the near future – it’s impossible to tell if this is a matter of hours or days, the official said,” the official noted as quoted by CNN. The Hostages and Missing Families Foundation has warned against the growing reasons for optimism emphasizing its determination to ensure that all the hostages will be released.
