The Meerut murder case continues to shock the community, with new and unsettling developments emerging. While the perpetrators have been caught, the situation remains complex and far from resolved. Muskan, one of the accused, has reportedly requested a public lawyer, citing dissatisfaction and anger from her family. This comes amidst ongoing de-addiction treatment for both Muskan and her co-accused, Sahil, who are being treated in Meerut Jail.
Drug Addiction Treatment in Jail
According to Senior Jail Superintendent of Meerut Jail, Viresh Raj Sharma, both Muskan and Sahil are drug addicts and are currently undergoing treatment at the jail’s drug de-addiction center. The treatment includes medication prescribed by doctors and additional therapies such as yoga, pranayama, and meditation. The jail officials are optimistic that the treatment will help the two break free from their addiction within 15 days, although they have experienced some initial difficulties.
Sharma added that both Muskan and Sahil’s health had been monitored by the jail’s medical team, and counselors from the de-addiction center have been called in for further evaluations.
Muskan’s Request for a Public Lawyer
In a new development, Muskan has requested a public lawyer, explaining that her family is upset with her actions and does not support her. She has written a letter to the jail authorities, requesting legal representation. The Senior Jail Superintendent confirmed that Muskan’s application for a public lawyer would be submitted to the district legal authority, as this is her right as a prisoner.
In the meantime, Muskan is being kept in the women’s barrack, while Sahil remains in the men’s barrack. Jail regulations prevent them from meeting each other, with only blood relatives allowed visitation rights.
Pregnancy Status Still Unclear
Regarding rumors surrounding Muskan’s pregnancy, Viresh Raj Sharma stated that it is not yet clear whether Muskan is pregnant. Although she has not made any statements on the matter, tests will be conducted to verify her condition. As the case is still under judicial review, the jail authorities are refraining from making further comments about the legal proceedings.
Family Abandonment and Isolation
In a troubling update, the jail authorities reported that neither Muskan nor Sahil have received any visits from their families. According to Sharma, Muskan’s family has completely disassociated from her following the murder incident. The situation remains tense, with no family members showing support or attempting to meet with either of the accused in jail.
As the investigation and legal proceedings continue, the case is drawing significant attention, and the complexities of Muskan and Sahil’s personal and legal circumstances are only adding to the intrigue.
