Fact Check: Every day, so many photos and videos go viral on social media. But many of them are fake and have nothing to do with the truth. To warn you against such fake news, we bring India TV Fact Check. Similarly, a video of a statement by former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan is going viral on social media. When we investigated the claim made in this video, the truth turned out to be something else.

What is going viral?

A video of a statement by BJP leader Shivraj Singh is spreading like wildfire on social media. In the viral video, Shivraj Singh says, “The future of the children has been ruined, their lives have been played with. The power brokers leaked the papers 17 times and kept us in the dark every time. They earned crores of rupees and left the children to wander from door to door. The youth here will not tolerate this.” The viral video was shared on several social media platforms. A user shared it and wrote, “Shivraj Singh Chauhan ji, you should not have spoken even this much truth. Well, you are right, the same thing is happening in the state before you and even after you. But you understood this only after stepping down from the chair of the head of the state.”

How was the truth discovered?

When we investigated the claim of the viral video, the truth turned out to be something else. Shivraj Singh Chauhan had given these statements against the Jharkhand government. When we reverse-searched, we found the full version of this video on a YouTube channel. Before the video ends, Shivraj says, ‘Jharkhand has to be saved, especially the soil, daughter, and bread.’ This part of the viral video was cut and made viral. Apart from this, Shivraj Singh Chauhan himself shared this video on his ‘ex’ handle and criticized the Jharkhand government. This makes it clear that the viral video is going viral with a false claim and in such a situation, people are advised to be cautious of such misleading news.
