Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was on a visit to Prayagraj today on Sunday. During this, he took stock of the preparations going on for the Maha Kumbh. Along with this, he also inaugurated the logo of Kumbh. On this occasion, CM Yogi said that meat and liquor will not be sold here during the Maha Kumbh to be held in January next year. He also held a meeting regarding the Maha Kumbh with representatives of 13 Akharas, Khak Chowk, Dandi Bada, and Acharya Bada.
According to a press release issued by the state government, the CM said in the meeting that respecting the sentiments of the entire Sanatan society including sadhus, saints, sanyasis, and ascetics, it is necessary to ban the sale and purchase of meat and liquor within the classical limits of Prayagraj. He said that efforts are being made at the government level to ensure the cleanliness of the holy rivers, but the cooperation of the sadhu-saint community is also expected. CM Yogi also said that land will soon be reserved in Prayagraj for the Samadhi of the sadhus and saints who died during the Maha Kumbh.
Cow slaughter is a crime in UP.
Apart from this, on the demand of the Sant Samaj for a ban on cow slaughter, CM Yogi said, “Cow slaughter is a crime in Uttar Pradesh. There is a provision of life imprisonment against cow slaughter. Along with this, the state government is running more than seven thousand cow shelters, where more than 14 lakh cows are protected.” CM Yogi requested all the saints, monks, and Acharyas not to allow anyone to stay in their ashram until they were duly verified.

Earlier, CM Yogi reached Sangam Nose by motor boat after landing at the helipad at Parade. Here he visited Ganga and Yamuna. After this, CM Yogi visited the holy Akshayvat, Patalpuri, Saraswati Koop, and reclining Hanuman ji, and prayed for the successful organization of Kumbh. In the afternoon, he inspected the construction work of Bhardwaj Corridor. After this, while inspecting the IERT bridge, he instructed me to complete the construction work expeditiously. While doing the on-site inspection of the projects, the Chief Minister also visited and worshipped the Venimadhav temple.
