The move from Android system and Google Chrome to iPhone and Mac technology presents a challenging transition to many users. The transition does not cause nervousness from the learning process or new operating system design. The main reason behind this challenge are all of the passwords we need to deal with. Apple provides users with an effortless method to move their Google passwords into the iCloud Keychain while providing access across every Apple device. Here’s how you can do it. The process contains three sections which we explain in detail.
To begin the process choose the option to export passwords from Google Chrome.
Open Google Chrome on your computer.
In the top-right corner choose the three-dot menu followed by accessing Settings through it.
Proceed to Autofill and Passwords on the Settings screen and click Google Password Manager.
Access the Settings section by clicking on the gear icon and pick Export passwords to proceed.
You will need to establish your system password with Chrome before confirmation of your account identity. Choose Export then save the password record as a .CSV file to your computer storage.
Through the implementation of this process you can upload saved passwords from Google Chrome into the Apple iCloud Keychain system.
Open Safari on your Mac.
You can find Safari under the menu bar to bring up the Settings dialogue (the dialog can be found in Preferences on older macOS versions).
You need to open Passwords in the settings menu then use the Import Passwords function.
Choose the data file you extracted from Google Chrome as a .CSV format.
Safari takes the stored credentials from the file and turns them into encrypted data for iCloud Keychain.
Step 3: Sync across Apple devices
The imported passwords will automatically synchronize with every Apple device connected to your iCloud account that includes iPhones and iPads.
That’s about it. The procedure requires discarding the .CSV file after password import to protect the sensitive data that remains unencrypted.
