Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Based on WABetaInfo’s findings, WhatsApp’s web client is working on enabling voice and video calls functionality. While calling has long been available on the mobile apps and desktop versions, voice and video calling was not possible on WhatsApp Web previously – it was restricted to texting only.

WhatsApp Web Updates with New Call Features

WABetaInfo was able to identify reinstated call buttons in WhatsApp Web group client.

Phone and Video Camera Buttons:

Previously Restricted to group chats, these have now been made available on the web client.
These changes align with those on mobile hubs.
Prior to Public Access, these changes have begun to be tested on a small scale.

Other Changes Regarding Call Features

Last month with WhatsApp:

Dropdown Call Menus in Chats:
Have been rolled out to beta testers.

Enabled direct calling in dialogues to make calls easier.

Indicated a broader objective aimed at synchronizing calls across all systems.

Effects of The Calling Update on Web Clients

After the updates are complete, these changes would:

Make WhatsApp Web function closer to software such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Allow calls to be made through browsers like Chrome, Safari, or Edge.

For hitting clients, these updates will remove the necessity of needing to install or download additional apps.

The Release Revision Timeline Remains Unknown Further

Currently:

No public launch has been stated by WhatsApp.

No further details about overall plans for WhatsApp have been disclosed.

This would greatly increase WhatsApp’s functionality for users on multiple devices.
