UP: Death toll in collision between Max loader and roadways bus in Hathras rises to 17, treatment of injured continues

Hathras: The death toll in the collision between a Max loader and a roadways bus in Hathras, UP on September 6 has increased. Till the time of writing this news, 17 people have died in this accident. In this, 15 people died on the spot and 2 people died in the hospital during treatment. 

Among the dead are 7 men, 4 women and 6 children. Out of the 17 dead, 16 people are residents of village Semra in Khandauli and 1 person is a resident of Didamai Firozabad. The people in the Max loader were returning to village Semra near Khandauli after having a feast at village Mukund Kheda Chalis in Sasni. The incident is of Meetai village located in Agra Aligarh bypass of Chandapa police station area. 

Many frightening videos have emerged from the spot. Many children are badly injured and are undergoing treatment. The police are continuously helping. This sudden incident has caused mourning among the relatives of the deceased. 

President, PM and CM expressed condolences and also announced compensation

President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the horrific road accident in Hathras. The central government also announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and Rs 50,000 to the injured. 

Expressing grief over the Hathras accident, President Draupadi Murmu said, ‘The news of the death of many people in a road accident in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh is extremely sad. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones and wish for the speedy recovery of the injured.’

At the same time, CM Yogi Adityanath also expressed grief over the incident. He said that my sympathies are with the bereaved families of the deceased. Instructions have been given to the district administration officials to provide proper treatment to the injured. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the families of each deceased in the road accident in Hathras and Rs 50 thousand to the seriously injured.
