Saharanpur Clash: Keeping in view the apprehension of conflict between two communities in Saharanpur, the administration has ordered internet shutdown from May 29 (Monday) till further orders. A letter has also been issued by District Magistrate Saharanpur office in this matter. It has been stated that Gurjar Samaj has unanimously proposed to organize Gaurav Yatra at Rajesh Pilot/Samrat Mihir Bhoj Chowk Tehsil Nakud on Monday (May 29) at 9 AM at Phandpuri Village under Nakud Police Station. On the other hand, there is a huge protest in the Gurjar community regarding the opposition of the Gurjar Pratihar Maratha Mihir Bhoj Gaurav Yatra by the Rajput community. Because of this, there is a strong possibility of creating a situation of friction between the Rajput community and the Gurjar community.
It is hereby informed that Gaurav Yatra has not been approved by the district administration due to the new tradition, but there is a strong possibility that this Yatra will take place. In view of the current situation, all internet and messaging/social media (2G/3G/4G/EDGE/GPRS/SMS) facilities are available in mobile networks of all telecom service providers within Saharanpur district from May 29 to maintain public order. . This order has been stayed with immediate effect.
It has been said on behalf of the District Magistrate that this order has been given so that peace is not disturbed. The administration has said that the accused person can be prosecuted under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code for violating these orders. The order has also been asked to be pasted on notice boards of police station offices and tehsil headquarters, railway stations, bus stands and other offices.
