Redmi Pad Pro 5G Review: Redmi launched its 5G tablet Redmi Pro in India last month. This tablet has strong features like a 10000mAh battery, and 12.1 inch screen. Redmi has also introduced a detachable keyboard and Redmi Pen with this tablet. This Redmi tablet comes in two color options – Graphite Gray and Quick Silver. It comes in three storage variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 128GB, and 8GB RAM + 256 GB. We have used its graphite gray color model and top variant for a few days and have brought its review for you. Let’s know how we liked the Redmi Pad Pro 5G.

Talking about the design of this flagship tablet of Redmi, it has a metallic finish. The back panel of the tab has a dual camera module, although it has only one camera. The module that looks like the second camera has an LED light. The back panel of this tablet is completely flat and Redmi’s branding is given at the bottom. The weight of this tablet is 568 grams, due to which you can easily carry it in your hand.
The corners on all four sides of Redmi Pad Pro 5G are rounded, which gives it a premium feel. Its thickness is just 7.5mm, which is less than the thickness of many smartphones. Four speakers are provided on the top and bottom of this tablet. There is a volume button on the top of one side, while there is a SIM card slot on the bottom. The USB Type C charging slot is available on the bottom side of the tablet. At the same time, the power button is given on the top side.
The design of this Redmi tablet is attractive and it looks like an Apple iPad. Along with this, the company has provided a Redmi Pro Keyboard cover for review, after installing which it becomes your personal laptop. This keyboard can be connected to the tablet via Bluetooth. You will get a USB Type C port to charge it. Also, a button has been provided to turn Bluetooth on and off.

This Redmi tablet has a large 12.1-inch screen. The display of this tab supports 2.5K resolution. It has an LCD panel, which supports a 120Hz high refresh rate feature. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is available for the protection of this Redmi tablet. Most compact laptops available in the market come with a 13 or 14-inch screen. In such a situation, the display of this tablet is quite large, due to which streaming video content feels quite good.
After installing the keyboard, it looks like a compact laptop. The peak brightness of the display of this laptop is up to 500 nits, due to which you will get a good viewing experience while watching the content on the screen. There are very thick bezels around the display, which many users may not like. These days laptops and tablets with edge-to-edge displays have started coming in the market.
The display of this tablet supports Dolby Atmos Vision. We watched many web series and movies on OTT apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar on this tablet. We had a decent experience with it. The touch of the display is also quite smooth.

This tablet has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which supports 4nm process technology and a top clock speed of up to 2.4GHz. This tab supports up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Its internal storage can be expanded up to 1.5TB via microSD card. This Qualcomm processor has been used in many mid-budget smartphones launched last year.
Talking about the performance of the tablet, we tried playing the Call of Duty mobile game on this tablet. We did not face any problems in playing the game. You can enjoy the battle royale game on this tablet in standard mode. However, mobile gamers may find its screen quite big. We did not face any problems while using this tablet during multitasking.
Redmi Pad Pro 5G comes with a HyperOS operating system based on Android 14. With this, Xiaomi has provided many pre-installed apps including Mi Canvas. You can download your favorite apps from the Google Play Store and use the tablet for entertainment as well as work. This tablet has four speakers, which are equipped with features like Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. However, we found the sound quality of the tablet to be ordinary.

This Redmi tablet has a 10,000mAh battery. To charge it, the company has provided a USB Type C cable and a 33W charger. It takes about 2 hours to charge this tablet from 0 to 100 percent. The battery backup of this Redmi tablet is not that great. We were able to use it for only 6 to 7 hours after fully charging it. You will not be able to watch more than 2 movies (3 hours) on this tablet on a single charge. Despite having a large battery, its backup is not much. Its battery may be optimized by releasing a patch update for the device.

Talking about the overall experience of this Redmi tablet, you will like its design. The company has also introduced a keyboard and smart pen with it. By using these two accessories, you can get the feel of a laptop with this tablet. You can also use it like a phone by inserting a SIM card into it.
This tablet has an 8MP rear and an 8MP selfie camera. The selfie camera is fitted inside the display on the side. Although the tablet is not camera-centric, the quality of the camera of this tablet is fine. The weight of this tablet is average and it will not disappoint you in terms of performance. We are disappointed by the sound quality and battery backup of this tablet. If both these flaws are removed, then this tablet can be a good option for daily use in this price range.
