Railways New System: Sometime people do not have cash on hand, especially while traveling by train. There is also a situation where due to lack of time people do not plan their cash properly which results in problems throughout the journey. Cash is mainly needed when one is purchasing food and other items. In these cases, Indian Railways is trying to solve this problem using an experiment which will soon make ATM facility available in trains.
The Railways have installed an ATM machine in the train as a pilot project so that it can be determined whether the passengers can withdraw cash without any difficulties. If this trial is successful, then in very few days people will be able to withdraw cash from ATM's even in moving trains. This facility will be able to solve their cashneed problem. ATM has been installed in Panchvati Express.

Passengers will now receive quicker service thanks to an Indian railways ATMs installation. Passengers can now have cash withdrawals done while on board a moving train, which is a first for the Indian rail networks. This system is in a test phase, and work is being done to make the methods utilized for performing cash withdrawals accessible during train movement. Currently, the only available option is to use the ATM installed on the Panchavati Express which just commenced operations from Manmad to CSMT.

Central Railways is working to ensure smoother ATM access for the traveling commuters and has varied services offered by the machines. Currently undergoing trial, the ATM provision placed by one of the private banks is positioned in the A/C chair coach of the daily serviced Mumbai Manmad Express.
Which Other Information Was Provided For The ATM
According to several bank authorities, the bank related train compartment which was previously utilized as a restroom center of the train has been modified so that it becomes more beneficial to the cash handling and smart door use devices developed and installed at the Microsoft Technology Center enhance security and accessibility while the train is in motion.
What are the operating hours of the train services?
The Panchvati Express, operational daily from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai to Manmad Junction in the adjacent Nashik district, completes it’s route in a one-way journey of approximately 4.35 hours. It is one of the favorite trains on this route for it makes travel between the two cities very convenient.
