
Nothing has just released its new smartphones – the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro – in India and other countries. Nothing has started the rollout of its first update – Nothing OS 3.1 – for both smartphones, which includes new features, improvements to Essentials Space, camera improvements, and system optimizations.

All users of the Nothing Phone (3a) series can now expect to receive Nothing OS 3.1. The firmware rollout is progressing, so not every user will get it right away.

Essential Space improvements
The update improves the Essential Key feature to allow for content saving or note taking upon quick press, and voice note recording on long press. New widgets allow users to access Essential Space items from the home or lock screen. They have also redesigned the homepage and detail page for better user's experience, adding the 'Upcoming' section for tasks. Smart Insight now has the ability to support the system language.
Enhancements to the Camera Features Though progress remains untracked, we trust that the information will become available shortly. In the interim, you will be able to substitute cube files for Presets that can be both shared and imported alike. The macro mode is also improved, as well as photo quality macro and portrait mode background blur. The optimization of app stability and performance is also expected to yield positive results. Other Developments Facial recognition and scene AI functionality will be introduced in the gallery app in updates following 3.3, so users can work with their photos more efficiently. Moreover, user experience within the gallery is expected to improve with the next step. A new form of verification for power-off passwords was added, thus strengthening security.
