Owning a gas connection is a necessity in every household as it relieves families from the burden of purchasing expensive gas cylinders available in the market. The families no longer have to go through the trouble of auto setting cylinders that last for just a week. However, a few people are unaware of the process of obtaining a new connection. Residence Certificate: - For the application, a Residence Certificate is required for us to capture your place of residence. Remember to attach only that document that has your address where you want the gas cylinder delivered.
In addition, you will need a bank passbook with a photograph, three passport photographs, a bill for water or electricity, and an active mobile number. If you are living in a rented house, then you may need a tenancy agreement along with these documents.

How to request for an LPG connection on the internet
Go to the official page of the gas company whose cylinder you want to buy.
On the homepage, click REGISTER, and register as a new user by providing your name and phone number. (Do not forget to register with the number that you will use for gas booking.)
After logging in, you should get a message on your mobile number through SMS containing your login information.
Make sure to use the provided login details to access your account.
Pick Launch New Domestic LPG Connection from the main dashboard of your account.
Complete the form on the internet and make sure to provide all relevant details, then click on submit.
Next, provide the necessary files and documents, then click on submit.
Application status can be verified on the website. In the case that the application is accepted, you shall receive notification through email and phone contact. Subsequently, you will be required to pay a security deposit. Once completed, you will have the ability to book 12 subsidized cylinders per year through the new connection.
What if I want to apply in person?
To apply in person, you will need to head over to the nearest gas agency. In that location, you will need to complete an application form as well as submit all the relevant documents.
For this application, verification is needed via an identity card, a residence certificate, a self-declaration certification from a gazetted officer issued within the last six months as well as a total of two color photographs. Valid documents also include a bank passbook, a telephone bill, an electricity bill, and an active phone number. What will the cost amount to?
You can view the various quotations offered by the different gas servicing companies. If you make an application for an Indane gas connection, then you would be required to pay Rs 2200, while in the seven northeastern states, the amount would be Rs 2000. HP gas connection would cost you Rs 2900, while in the northeastern and union territories the price will be Rs 2300. Bharat Gas connection charges are set at Rs 1450 for a 15 kg cylinder and 1,150 in the northeast states with the exception of northeast states.
As stated, these deposit funds will be used as a security deposit in gas connection. The amount will be refunded less any charges if you decide to cancel your gas connection via the agency will result in the agency sending the remaining balance to your account.
