The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 just concluded, with Team India, yet again, taking home the gold medal after defeating Team New Zealand on March 9 in Dubai. Celebrations within the country are at an all time high since the blue men brought home another trophy less than a year ago. However, another “rivalry,” in this case, an off the field one, appears to be starting.
As it happens, the rivalry involves Bollywood actors Aamir Khan, and Ranveer Kapoor, alongside cricketers, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and R. Ashwin. In a more dramatic twist, Arbaaz Khan and Jackie Shroff sit at the sidelines for some reason.
So, what’s happening?
By now, you have figured out that this heavily populated gathering that I have described in a single sentence is for a commercial for Dream11. And as you can guess, the commercial takes jabs at the feud between Amir and Ranveer, with Aamir forgetting Ranveer's surname time and again, calling him “Singh,” while the other actor is playfully bantering back.
And in classic fashion, he tries to “settle” this “battle” on the field by selecting a player to form his team. Ranbir Kapoor picks Rohit Sharma, while Aamir Khan takes Rishabh Pant.
The first Pandya Babu and Bumrah koffee episode takes place with Hardik Pandya mixing questions with friendly banter by asking Jasprit Bumrah what team he supports. Bumrah’s cheeky response of “Isse accha toh main retire hi ho jaoon”, meaning I would rather retire than pick a side, makes it a hilarious moment.
Ditto head Rohit Sharma posted the video of it with the words “Rivalries ka season ek baar phirse shuru ho gaya hai, sides chunne ke liye ready ho na” which translates as the season of rivalries has come back and are you ready to choose sides?

Alia Bhatt has sent out one spark and then a further tease on Tuesday when she stared at us with a poster posed bearing Aamir Khan (AK) and Ranbir Kapoor (RK) hints. She hinted them in her caption that for the first time, these two stars might be put against each other.
