Many people struggle with falling asleep, and prolonged sleep deprivation can have serious effects on health and well-being. If you're looking for an effective way to relax your mind and drift off quickly, Dr. Ganesh's method could help.
Start the Countdown
Dr. Ganesh shared a simple yet effective sleep trick on Instagram, explaining that focusing on counting can distract the mind from stress and worries that keep you awake.
In his video, he stated:
"There is a secret way to fall asleep faster, and I use it whenever I have trouble sleeping. Start by counting backwards from 100. Lie down in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and slowly count backwards from 100. With each number, take a slow, deep breath in and out. By the time you reach 70, 60, or 50, you'll be asleep. I never reach 50."
What If You Lose Count?
Dr. Ganesh reassured that if you lose track of the count, there's no need to worry. He advised:
"If you forget where you are, just pick a random number and continue counting. The key is to redirect your mind gently to something repetitive and calming. Try it and let me know if it works for you."
Does This Trick Work for You?
In his caption, Dr. Ganesh emphasized the ease of this method:
“Instead of forcing yourself to sleep, start counting backwards from 100—slowly, in your mind. Each number shifts your focus away from racing thoughts and helps your brain relax. Before you realize it, you'll be asleep. Sounds too simple? Try it tonight and see for yourself. What's your favorite sleep trick? Share it in the comments.”
