IT Professional Arrested in Thane for Repeated Rape and Harassment

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Thane police have detained a 24-year-old IT professional from Bhiwandi for charges including repeated rape, harassment, and blackmail.

With the help of the victim's comprehensive complaint, the arrest was made on Thursday.

Assault and Intimidation Claims

Between August 10, 2024, and April 23, 2025, the suspect was accused of repeatedly raping the victim on the pretext of marriage.

Harassment was also said to be inflicted psychologically and over digital platforms.

The alleged charges include:

Rape

Fraud

Intimidation

Slander

Reported Violations of the IT Act

Blackmail through Offensive Material

As per the victim's account, once the relations were severed, she demanded the deletion of all compromising photographs and videos.

Allegedly, the man refused and instead set a bond of Rs 2 lakh if she wished to sever ties for good.

The accused was said to have uploaded defamatory material on a fake Instagram account constructed for stalking after she declined his offer.

The Police have commenced an Examination

Authorities have noted commencing the verification of the claims made.

Accompanying materials concerning the fake instagram account together with the other digital stalking are being analyzed.
