Holi is a festival of colours and joy, but the real challenge begins after the celebration—removing the stubborn colours from the skin. The colours, especially pink and red, often settle inside and around the ears, making it difficult to get rid of them for days. If you are struggling with this issue, don't worry! Here are some simple and effective home remedies to help you remove the colour easily.
1. Use Olive Oil or Coconut Oil
- One of the safest ways to remove Holi colour is by using natural oils like olive oil, coconut oil, or almond oil.
- Dip a cotton ball in lukewarm oil and gently rub it on the coloured skin.
- Let the oil sit for 10-15 minutes to soften the colour.
- Wipe it off gently with cotton or a damp cloth.
2. Baking Soda and Rose Water Paste
- Baking soda is a mild exfoliator that helps remove colour without damaging the skin.
- Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 2-3 drops of rose water to form a paste.
- Apply it on the affected area and rub it gently.
- Wipe it off with a wet cloth or rinse with lukewarm water.
3. Aloe Vera Gel and Lemon Juice
- Aloe vera gel hydrates the skin, while lemon juice acts as a natural bleach to lighten colour stains.
- Mix 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel with half a teaspoon of lemon juice.
- Apply it around the ear and leave it for 10 minutes.
- Rub gently and wash off with clean water.
- Caution: If you experience a burning sensation, wash it off immediately.
4. Curd and Gram Flour Scrub
- Curd contains lactic acid that softens the skin, and gram flour (besan) acts as a natural scrub.
- Mix 1 spoon of curd with 1 spoon of gram flour to make a thick paste.
- Apply it to the coloured area and rub gently.
- Wash off with lukewarm water.
5. Rose Water and Milk Cleansing
- Rose water and raw milk help clean the skin gently.
- Mix equal amounts of rose water and milk.
- Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and rub it over the coloured skin.
- Rinse with clean water after a few minutes.
How to Prevent Colour from Sticking to Your Skin?
