Post Office Closed: If you have an account at any Delhi post office, read this carefully. Several branch offices in the capital will shut their doors to the public for the entire day on July 21, 2025. There’s no cause for concern. The closure lasts only 24 hours. Here’s the list of affected post offices.

Why the temporary shutdown?

According to postal officials, a citywide upgrade is scheduled for 36 post offices in the Delhi region. Teams will integrate a new application called APT, and that means all postal and banking services must pause for one day. The new software will be fully installed and rigorously tested in that window. The aim is to deliver faster, safer, and smarter digital services to you in the months to come.

Which post offices will not open on Monday?

On Monday, 36 post offices will not open, including those at Aliganj, Amar Colony, Andrews Ganj, CGO Complex, Dargah Sharif, Defence Colony, the District Court at Saket, both phases of East of Kailash, Gautam Nagar, Golf Links, Gulmohar Park, Hari Nagar Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Jangpura, Kasturba Nagar, Krishna Market, Lodhi Road, Lajpat Nagar, Malviya Nagar, MMTC-STC Colony, Nehru Nagar, ND South Extension-II, Panchsheel Enclave, Pragati Vihar, Pratap Market, Pushp Vihar, Sadiq Nagar, Safdarjung Airport, Saket, Sant Nagar, Sarvodaya Enclave, South Malviya Nagar, Srinivaspuri, and Jeevan Nagar BO.

Closure is for one day

The Postal Department advises anyone with an urgent or banking transaction to complete it before or after 21st July, as savings accounts, term deposits, postal investments, and general postal services will not be available on that day. All other post offices across Delhi will open and operate as usual.

Officials from the postal department report that the latest application upgrade will allow residents of Delhi to access postal services more quickly and conveniently than ever. The enhancement reinforces the digital infrastructure of the post office while ensuring that every transaction remains secure through technology designed for the future. The temporary closure is set to last only until July 21. Beginning July 22, all post office locations will resume standard operating hours and services.
