The new Air India, which will come into existence after the merger of Air India and Vistara, will operate its first flight from Doha to Mumbai at 12.15 pm on Tuesday. A source gave this information. Vistara will merge with Air India on Monday night and from Tuesday Vistara’s flight code will change from ‘UK’ to ‘AI2XXX’. The source said that the first flight after the merger on the international route will be AI2286 from Doha to Mumbai, which will take off at 12.15 pm on Tuesday. 

Vistara’s last flight will fly from Delhi to Singapore.

The company’s first scheduled flight after the merger on the domestic route will be AI2984 from Mumbai to Delhi, which will take off at 1.20 pm on Tuesday night. Both are Vistara’s pre-scheduled flights, which will be operated by Air India after the merger. Meanwhile, Vistara’s last flight ‘UK115’ is scheduled from Delhi to Singapore, which will take off at 11.45 pm on Monday. Let us tell you that both Air India and Vistara are airline companies of the Tata Group.

After the merger, Singapore Airlines will have a 25.1 percent stake in Air India.

While Tata Group owns a 100 percent stake in Air India, Tata Group owns a 51 percent stake in Vistara and the remaining 49 percent stake is held by Singapore’s airline company Singapore Airlines. After Vistara’s merger with Air India, Singapore Airlines’ total stake in the company will become 25.1 percent. Let us tell you that Vistara is merging with Air India to create a full-service airline in the domestic and international aviation market. 

Vistara’s first flight took off from Delhi to Mumbai.

After its inception on 5 November 2013, Vistara began its operations on 9 January 2015 with its first official flight from Delhi to Mumbai. Vistara connects a total of 50 domestic and international destinations. Vistara has a fleet of 70 aircraft including 53 Airbus A320neo, 10 Airbus A321neo, and 7 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, operating more than 300 flights daily. Vistara, the airline company which started services on 9 January 2015, has so far transported more than 6.5 crore customers to their destinations.
