Accelerating Digitization: India’s Biggest Spender On Digital Advertising

Ahmedabad: The process of digitization in India has progressed rapidly due to advanced technology, increasing internet penetration, increasing use of smart phones among other favorable factors. India has emerged as the number one country among the top digital ad spenders.

According to the findings of a survey conducted on Digital India, the number of online shoppers has increased by $12.5 billion in the last 3 years. Looking at the growth seen in this sector, there is a possibility that in the next three years, 80 million more people will join the online shopping.

There are currently 531 million active social media users in the country, of which fifty-two percent are millennials. The market size of DTUC (direct-to-consumer e-commerce) brands in the country is over $100 billion. In FY2022, the revenue of the Detussi brand was four billion dollars.

The top five countries in the world spend the most on digital ads. India is at number one with 22 percent. Brazil is second with 13 per cent, France third with 11 per cent, US fourth with 10 per cent and Canada fifth with 9.5 per cent.
