Two days before a gruesome terror attack took the lives of 26 civilians and injured many, Aaliyah Kashyap and Ida Ali were in Pahalgam, Kashmir. The daughters of Anurag Kashyap and Imtiaz Ali were vacationing in the region with their boyfriends, and were left in utter disbelief after hearing the news.
Aaliyah and Ida’s Visit to Pahalgam
Through Instagram stories, Aaliyah Kashyap reported that she was in Pahalgam for a trip along with her friend Ida Ali which happened just two days prior to the incident.
During their vacation, the two were posting pictures and videos on all social media platforms, captioning Kashmir as “heaven on Earth.”
A trip to such a beautiful destination would be incomplete without a vlog. The ladies also recorded a YouTube vlog detailing their time spent in the breathtaking locale.
Reactions to the Attack
Heartbroken by such tragic news, Aaliyah said, “This is crazy; we were just here 2 days ago. Praying for all the victims, their families, and all the people affected. This is heartbreaking,” via Instagram.
Ida Ali also took her condolences to social media. “My heart goes out to all the victims and their families,” she expressed.
Details of the Terror Incident
The Baisaran region of Pahalgam became the sight for a gruesome terror incident on Tuesday at 3 PM.
The shooting of tourists led to the tragic death of 26 people and left more than 20 injured.
Law enforcement began their investigation immediately after the attack.
Government Remarks
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, labeled the attack an “inhumane act," expressing outrage toward the attack.
He provided mourning support to the relatives of the killed victims and affirmed that “no one will be let go” for the established perpetrators of the crime.
Also, he departed from Saudi Arabia to India two days earlier than planned to observe southeastern India firsthand.
