Regarding this, a report has been released on Monday by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), in which the figures of the assets of the CM have been given.
The richest CM of the country
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is the richest CM in the country. He has assets worth more than Rs 931 crore. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is at number two. He has total assets worth more than Rs 332 crore. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is at number three. He has assets worth more than Rs 51 crore.
The poorest CM of the country
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the Chief Minister with the least assets with assets worth just Rs 15 lakh. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is the second poorest Chief Minister in the list with assets worth Rs 55 lakh. While Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is the third Chief Minister with the least assets with assets worth Rs 1.18 crore.
The report also states that the average assets per Chief Minister is Rs 52.59 crore. India's per capita net national income or NNI for 2023-2024 was around Rs 1,85,854, while the average self-income of a Chief Minister is Rs 13,64,310, which is about 7.3 times India's average per capita income.
What is the total wealth of the 31 Chief Ministers of the country?
The total assets of the 31 chief ministers of the country are Rs 1,630 crore. Khandu also has liabilities of Rs 180 crore. The report said that Siddaramaiah has liabilities of Rs 23 crore and Naidu has liabilities of more than Rs 10 crore. It also said that 13 (42 per cent) chief ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves, while 10 (32 per cent) have declared serious criminal cases, which include cases related to attempt to murder, kidnapping, bribery and criminal intimidation. Out of the 31 chief ministers of the country, only two are women - Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal and Atishi, Chief Minister of Delhi.
