According to a leak from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Apple’s first foldable phone will be a “Big Fold.” The leak also reveals the expected screen sizes of the first-generation Apple foldable. Apple is reportedly designing the device with a 5.49-inch cover display and a 7.74-inch inner display, suggesting a wider form factor. These dimensions could make it even broader than the original Pixel Fold, which featured a larger front display and a smaller inner screen.
How It Compares to Other Foldables
In comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6, launched in 2024, features a 6.3-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch inner display. If these leaked dimensions hold true, Apple’s foldable would be the most compact among its competitors, standing out in an increasingly competitive market of foldable smartphones.
Expected Launch Timeline
Apple’s first foldable device is not expected to debut until at least next year. Reports suggest that Apple has chosen Lens Technology from China as its primary supplier of ultra-thin glass for this device. However, as with all early leaks, these details should be taken with caution until more concrete information is available.
