Dengue Symptoms 17 09 2024 17265

So far this year, 1,774 cases of dengue have been reported in Bihar, with 48 new cases reported across the state in the last few days. Patna reported the highest number of 36 new dengue cases in the past day. Looking at these figures, the total number of dengue patients in Bihar so far this year has reached 832. In the last six days, the state has seen a 30.7 percent increase in dengue cases.

According to media reports, apart from Patna, five new cases were reported in Madhepura, Saran, Lakhisarai, Nalanda, Supaul, and Vaishali districts, of which three were in Saran. During the last week, an average of 35 to 60 cases were reported per day in Patna district. Whereas 46 positive cases were found on Sunday, 46 on Saturday, 59 on Friday, 37 on Thursday, and the highest number of 44 positive cases were found on Wednesday.

These new symptoms are seen in dengue patients.

While treating dengue, some changes in the symptoms are also being seen. This time in the new strain of dengue, like corona, the fever does not reduce for the first 3-4 days. The fever is so high that it does not reduce even after taking paracetamol 650. In such a situation, patients have to be given medicine every 4-5 hours. This is the reason that this time dengue patients are getting admitted to the hospital with the problem of black vomit or black stool instead of low platelets. IGIMS Medical Superintendent Dr. Manish Mandal says that out of every 10 patients coming to the hospital, two to three patients are suffering from this.

Paracetamol overdose is proving to be dangerous.

Till now, patients suffering from hemorrhagic and shock syndrome do not require less treatment. They still need platelets. The patient has to take medicine four to five times at an interval of four to five hours. This year so far, the number of patients suffering from dengue, hemorrhagic, or shock syndrome has been quite low. Dr Manish Mandal says that usually doctors recommend taking three tablets of 15 mg of paracetamol per kilogram per day.

Different stages of dengue fever

Dengue fever has several stages. In which the symptoms also start changing at different times. Normally dengue gets cured in 5 to 7 days without medication. It does not have very serious symptoms. Sometimes symptoms of serious illness start appearing even after the fever subsides. In this, platelets in the body start decreasing and then red rashes appear on the nose, gums, and skin. If proper treatment is not done, blood pressure also starts falling due to a lack of liquid in the body. Many times the patient goes into a coma. Sometimes when the patient’s condition is improving, the amount of fluid in the blood vessels suddenly starts increasing. This increases the pressure on the heart. Therefore, do not take any medicine without consulting a doctor.
