A Playlist of Emotions: Hospital and Music
Tahira shared how music played an unexpected role during her hospital experience. In her Instagram post titled #HospitalChronicles, she recounted how her doctor played the song Kal Ho Naa Ho during a scan—an ironically emotional moment given her health condition.
“As I lay down ready to be taken inside, the doc had this song playing,” she wrote. “I gulped and said, ‘Sir, I appreciate your gesture but please isse toh band hi kardo!’”
Later, while being wheeled into the operation theatre, she was asked what song she wanted to hear. Tahira responded by sharing what was playing in her mind, not just in the OT—a reminder of how music and emotions intertwine even in clinical spaces.

Post-surgery, when asked by her doctor to walk a few rounds in the corridor, Tahira had an amusing run-in with a spirited fellow patient. She described how a 70-year-old woman, engrossed in celebrity gossip, zoomed past her with surprising agility.
“Few minutes later, I saw her stumbling out of her room racing ahead of me... I swear I heard her say, ‘Agar yeh itna dangal macha sakten hain toh main kyon nahi!’” Tahira wrote, showcasing the power of inspiration—even when drawn from Bollywood chatter.

Tahira first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in 2018. On April 7 this year, she took to Instagram to announce that the disease had returned after seven years. Her candid posts have resonated widely for their mix of honesty, resilience, and wit.
