Samsung is leveling up its mid-range Galaxy A-series smartphones with the launch of Awesome Intelligence, a new AI-powered suite of features now available on the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26. These upgrades introduce intelligent tools previously limited to premium Galaxy devices, making everyday smartphone use smarter and more efficient.
Awesome Intelligence: AI Tailored for Everyday Use
Unlike generative AI tools seen on flagship models—such as Writing Assist or Note Assist—the features in Awesome Intelligence focus on utility and photography enhancements. Samsung's latest AI push brings tools that make smartphones more intuitive without the need for cloud-powered generative tech.
Current AI upgrades in the Awesome Intelligence suite include:
AI Select: Provides contextual suggestions based on what’s on screen, such as text, images, or video content.
Circle to Search: Google-powered visual search tool.
Music ID: Identifies music playing nearby.
Read Aloud: A text-to-speech (TTS) feature that can read any webpage aloud.
AI-Driven Camera Enhancements for A-Series Users
Photography is a key area of focus for Samsung’s new AI upgrade:
Object Eraser: Removes unwanted elements from photos.
Edit Suggestions: Applies one-tap effects such as background blur and reflection removal after analyzing images.
For Galaxy A56 users, additional exclusive AI tools are available:
Best Face: Helps users choose the best facial expressions in group photos by combining elements from multiple shots.
Auto Trim: Automatically edits multiple video clips to highlight key moments.
AI Implementation and Availability
While Samsung has not clarified whether the AI functions are processed on-device or require server-side support, the features are currently not available on older A-series models. This suggests that only newer devices have the necessary hardware or software infrastructure to support Awesome Intelligence.
Although high-end AI features remain exclusive to Samsung’s flagship line, this move signals the brand’s intent to democratize smart features across its product range.
