In a shocking development, a retired Indian Army colonel from Haryana has lodged a police complaint in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, alleging he was assaulted, held hostage, robbed, and blackmailed by a woman he met through a matrimonial website.

The complainant, Colonel Rajnish Soni (retired), is a resident of Gurugram, Haryana, and filed the case at Barsana police station on Thursday.

Allegations of Orchestrated Trap

According to SHO Raj Kamal Singh, the woman in question, who is from Barsana, first contacted Colonel Soni in January 2025 through a matrimonial platform and expressed willingness to marry him. After regular conversations, she invited him to Barsana on January 25, suggesting a visit to the Radharani Temple.

The woman reportedly made accommodation arrangements for him in a guest house and accompanied him around the area, including to the temple.

Assault and Forced Money Transfer

Things took a turn after they returned to the guest house. According to Colonel Soni’s complaint, the woman and her accomplices misled him with claims that his brother had met with an accident. He was taken to a parked vehicle, where he was allegedly attacked.

The colonel claims he was:

Beaten

Had his phone seized

Forced to contact friends and relatives to transfer money

Blackmail Through Pornographic Videos

After being brought back to the guest house, he was allegedly:

Forced to record pornographic videos at gunpoint

Threatened with public release of the content if he spoke out

The colonel has also accused the group of stealing:

His purse, bag, gold chain, debit card

Around Rs 12,000 in cash

Despite his efforts to locate the culprits, he said he was unable to track them down and eventually approached the police.

Investigation Underway

SHO Singh confirmed that an FIR has been filed under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The matter is under active investigation, and further legal action will follow based on the findings.
