Doob grass, also known as Durva, is very much liked by Lord Ganesha. According to beliefs, Ganesha had swallowed the demon Analasur, after which he started having digestive problems and a lot of burning sensation in the stomach. Seeing Ganesha upset, sage Kashyap gave 21 Durva grass to Ganesha to eat to calm the burning sensation. This calmed down Ganesha’s stomach fever. Since then, Doob grass has been offered to Ganpati in the worship of Ganesh Chaturthi on Wednesday. However, Durva grass also provides many health benefits. According to Acharya Bal Krishna, Doob grass has many medicinal properties that prove to be effective in diseases like headaches, eye pain, nosebleeds, vomiting, and diabetes. - Effective in stopping vomiting and diarrhea- Many times, eating spicy food causes gas, acidity, and vomiting. In this, the consumption of durva is beneficial. Vomiting stops by drinking about 5 ml of durva juice. Vomiting also stops by mixing durva grass with rice water grinding it and drinking it. If there is diarrhea, then boil durva with dry ginger and fennel and drink it after filtering it.

- Beneficial in diabetes- If you are a patient with high blood sugar, then you can use dube grass. For this, extract the juice of dube grass mix it with neem juice, and drink it.
