The recognition of UAN will be required in combination with Aadhaar, and this will be active from today until Januari 15,2025, according to an earlier notice published by EPFO. Numbering these dates, however, goes back to the months of 30 February to 15 February 2024 which had been declared earlier. Therefore, employees are recommended to get it over and done with as soon as they can to obtain the benefits provided under the ELI scheme.
Why UAN Activation is important?
‘UAN’, which stands for Unique Identification Number, is a 12 digit code each employee is assigned to enable them to make contributions to the provident fund, an initiative spearheaded by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), to streamline formal employment in the Budget 2024 just to name a few.
Through their social media accounts, EPFO made clear in a post associated with UAN, “Seeding Aadhaar with your bank account is essential to avail ELI scheme benefits. Avoid last-minute hassles, do it today,” said EPFO.
Steps to Activate UAN
1. Visit epfindia.gov.in website and click on For Employees section available in Services Menu.
2. Click on Member UAN/Online Services -> Activate your… UAN.
3. Enter UAN, full name, date of birth, mobile number, and solve the captcha.
4. and However, having a bank account would login your mobile phone; one of the use of having a universal account.
