Popular YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina appeared before Maharashtra Cyber on April 15 in connection with an investigation into alleged obscenity related to the India’s Got Latent show, according to a report by PTI.
An official from Maharashtra Cyber confirmed that three summonses had previously been issued to the duo. The latest summon required them to present themselves before the investigating officer in Mumbai for questioning.
Statements Being Recorded in Mumbai Cyber Office
Both Allahbadia and Raina complied with the latest directive and reported to the Cyber Cell office in Cuffe Parade, South Mumbai, where their statements are currently being recorded. The official also noted that Allahbadia had failed to appear during an earlier scheduled questioning last week.
Maharashtra Cyber's Role
The Maharashtra Cyber unit operates as the cybercrime and information security division under the Maharashtra Home Department. It is actively involved in cases related to digital offenses, including cyberbullying, obscenity, and data breaches.
The current investigation is ongoing, and both individuals are said to be cooperating with authorities.
