The IPL 2025 rivalry week was nothing short of sensational after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) thrashed Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 7 wickets on April 20. Aside from the post-match fireworks of IPL action, one of the more tender moments on and off the field featured Virat Kohli having a heartwarming exchange with starring bollywood actress and co owner of PBKS Preity Zinta, which ended up becoming the most viral incident of the day post match.

Aviary moments of IPL players is a rare sight but one that never ceases to surprise. Post the clash at Mullanpur Stadium Chandigarh, Kohli was spotted having a candid interaction with Zinta which went mega viral. Known to be a media recluse, the cricketer surprised everyone by sending his PBKS co owner some pictures from his gallery of kids, Vamika and Akaay and the reaction queues were to die for.

This sneak peek into Kohli's life away from the stadium delighted too many fans, especially for the ones waiting for the golden duo of Anushka and Kohli to unclothe even this little, seeing the couple are known to envelop their children in cuts like the idea of Social Media public eye head down the hatch.

The emotional tone of the match was heightened by the presence of Preity Zinta in the stadium, who was still recuperating from an illness. Only a day before, Zinta updates her followers revealing that she is under the weather after constantly traveling and dealing with harsh conditions and staying in several hotels. It was, however, invigorating for her to attend PBKS’s last home match in Chandigarh before the team shifts to Dharamshala.  

She wrote, “ *Hope I can make it to the Mullanpur stadium since it’s our last home game in Chandigarh before we move to Dharamshala for the next set of home games,* ” on X (formerly Twitter).

This match was equally important for RCB’s IPL 2025 campaign as they hoped to gain some traction after a lackluster start to the season. They were looking to avenge their previous loss to PBKS in a rain-affected match on April 18.  

The combination of thrilling, on-field performances from the cricketers alongside off-field spectacles, such as the interaction between Virat and Preity Zinta added to the IPL and humanized these global celebrities.
