Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A panic-like situation arose at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, after the Canadian passenger on an IndiGo flight to Bengaluru claimed that he had a bomb in his possession. This incident occurred on the night of Saturday, April 26.  

Local security agencies promptly acted by apprehending the passenger and taking the plane to a holding area for intensive searching. There is no bomb that was uncovered, and the situation was determined to be a nonincident misfire.  

Protocols Were Followed, And The Passenger Was Arrested  

Akash Patel, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Gomti Zone), verified that the flight was indeed canceled and checked subsequent to the claim made by the passenger was termed Nishant, a Canadian National. “Emergency Protocols were activated at once. The passenger, along with check-in luggage, was screened. As it turned out, the supposed threat was unfounded,” explained Patel.  

“An FIR is being filed against Nishant under the applicable law. It is also decided to notify the Canadian High Commission regarding the case,” unfolds an investigation from a legal perspective moves towards the judgment of this situation. As the probe has unearthed, the motives sought here are purely frivolous and clearly indicate mischief at the airport.”Air Craft Cleared for Takeoff After Security Checks


The director of the airport, Puneet Gupta, mentioned that the St. John’s Airport captain of IndiGo Flight 6E 499 controlled the airplane with the appropriate speed, and all SOPs were observed. The flight was later permitted to proceed to Bengaluru on Sunday after being cleared by numerous security agencies and inspections.

IndiGo issued a statement assuring the delay was because of the bomb threat. As it was correctly stated in the declaration of Indigo Airlines, ‘the 6E 499 flight from Varanasi to Bengaluru which was slated on 26 April encountered a bomb threat prior to take-off and hence was delayed. In compliance with operating procedures, the plane was subsequently taken to a isolation bay, wherein the passengers were disembarked in a secure manner.’

The airline also conveyed its comments concerned with the patience of the customers during the aforementioned situation.
