Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is putting more effort into cracking down on food and drug scams. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath terms these actions ‘social crimes’ and he has recently implemented tougher procedures under the state’s long-standing zero tolerance policy. One such measure entails publicly displaying the photographs of public offenders at major intersections for identification and shaming purposes.

CM Yogi: No Compromise on Public Health

While reviewing the FSDA meeting with top officials, CM Yogi claimed that the adulteration of milk, cheese, ghee, oils and spices is one of the most critical issues concerning public wellbeing. He instructed that these items, if possible, should be disposed of at the production unit to prevent further distribution of the contaminated goods. Milk and dairy products are to receive dedicated unit-for-exempt testing, especially for intensive testing, to meet the more stringent regulations set out by the CM.

Giving Offenders a Daily Reminder of Their Actions

The Chief Minister ordered that suspects from the adulteration and fake medicine business are to be unmasked for all to see. Seen ought to be where everyone from all walks of life congregate like major intersections. With their images exposed, the society can voluntarily keep their distance from such offenders.

Efficiency testing was initiated first in Lucknow and later in Meerut.

To sustain these labs, CM Yogi suggested the setting up of a corpus fund exclusively for these purposes.
