Lucknow: The deadlock between Congress and Samajwadi Party continues regarding the assembly by-elections in Uttar Pradesh. SP is not ready to give more than two seats to Congress. Samajwadi Party is giving Ghaziabad Sadar and Khair seats in Congress. However, Congress is also demanding Phulpur, Manjhwa, and Meerapur seats from SP apart from Ghaziabad Sadar and Khair. According to sources, the Samajwadi Party says that Congress will not be given more than two seats. Now the decision has to be taken by Congress.
SP had won these seats in 2022
Congress says that out of the nine seats on which by-elections are being held, four – Karhal, Sisamau, Katehari, and Kundarki – were won by the Samajwadi Party in the 2022 assembly elections. SP should field its candidate there and give the remaining five seats to Congress.
