This declaration allows women across the state to avail themselves of complimentary bus services on the day of Raksha Bandhan. As part of this initiative, women from 14 districts of Uttar Pradesh can enjoy free bus travel on the 30th and 31st of August.
Access to Free Bus Services
According to the directives issued by Joint Secretary Kalyan Banerjee, the districts where free bus services will be provided have been identified. Notably, the cities of Lucknow, Kanpur, Meerut, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Shahjahanpur, Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Muradabad, Jhansi, and Bareilly are included in this list. In these districts, Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) will be deployed to offer complimentary bus travel services. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden of travel for women, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable Raksha Bandhan celebration.
