Varanasi: On Tuesday, a speeding out-of-control trailer collided with a roadside tanker on the highway near Bhiti village in Ramnagar police station area. The trailer driver and the helper died in the accident. As soon as the information was received, the Ramnagar police reached the spot and after separating the two vehicles with the help of a crane, took the dead bodies into their possession and sent them for post-mortem.
According to local people, the driver of the gas tanker parked the vehicle on the side of the road at the Tengra turn Bhiti highway after the brakes failed. In the morning, a trailer truck coming from Mughalsarai towards Varanasi lost control and rammed into a tanker parked on the roadside. The cabin of the trailer was blown away in the collision. Truck driver Sachith Sarkar (55), a resident of Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, who was trapped in the cabin, died on the spot. While sailor Sanjit Mandal (19) was seriously injured. The police referred the injured sailor to the BHU trauma center for treatment. The sailor also died on reaching the hospital. After identifying both the police have informed their families about the accident.
