
On April 2, Tata Electronics announced the appointment of KC Ang as President and Head of Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing, the company's AI-driven chip foundry unit. Ang will report directly to CEO and MD Randhir Thakur.
KC Ang Brings Decades of Foundry Expertise
With more than 30 years of experience in the global semiconductor industry, KC Ang previously held senior leadership roles at Global Foundries. He served as President of its Asia division and Chairman of its China operations during a 15-year tenure.
Ang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University and a Master’s in Engineering from the University of Texas.
Strategic Role in Dholera Fab and India’s Chip Ambitions
In his new role, Ang will be instrumental in driving Tata Electronics' foundry strategy and operations, especially as the company prepares to launch its chip manufacturing facility at Dholera, Gujarat.
CEO Randhir Thakur commented:
