Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman of Samajwadi Party sparked mixed reactions by stating that the rape of a girl from a scheduled caste does not require much attention. SP MP Ramjilal Suman has articulated that a recent incident involving the rape of a Dalit girl should not be highlighted. The Rajya Sabha MP noted, ‘Akhilesh Yadav should come here. This is not such a big issue.’  

Suman had gone to see the girl’s parents  

In the Kheragadh police station area, a 12-year-old Dalit girl was recently raped. Post this, the police are trying to capture the culprits. In the meantime, Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman, along with his supporters, also.This does not appear to be a significant concern for Akhilesh Yadav- MP  

Saying this he adds, “This is not significant enough of a matter for Akhlesh Yadav to visit and for us to show up with our cadres.” The SP MP also expressed that he would do everything possible to assist the family of the victim.  

Barbaric in nature, he abducted the dalit girl from her home.

Recently, the case of abuse of a minor Dalit girl came to light which happened in Agra. One man abducted a twelve-year-old girl from her house at night and after taking her to an isolated location, he sexually assaulted her. Ever since this incident has come to light, people in Agra are severely outraged about this incident. There is a plea for harsh punishment for the perpetrator.

SP MP comes under attack from BJP

BJP leaders too have given their take to the controversial comments made by SP MP. Minister to the Yogi government Asim Arun responded to Ramjilal Suman’s remarks and said that the SP has only subjugated the dalits which is why they are viewing this incident as trivial.
