A shocking case of medical negligence has surfaced from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. A woman who had undergone an operation 17 years ago discovered through an X-ray that a pair of surgical scissors had been left inside her abdomen. The discovery stunned the family and has led to a police complaint.

Incident Traced Back to 2008 Operation

According to the victim’s husband, Arvind Pandey, his wife underwent surgery on 26 February 2008 at She Medical Care in Indiranagar, Lucknow. The procedure, performed by Dr. Pushpa Jaiswal, resulted in the birth of their child. Although everything seemed fine initially, the woman later began experiencing persistent health issues.

X-ray Reveals Shocking Oversight

On 23 March 2025, an X-ray revealed the presence of scissors in her abdomen. The family then took her to King George's Medical University (KGMU), where she was admitted on 25 March 2025. The following day, the surgical scissors were successfully removed during an operation.

The woman's husband has now filed a formal complaint at Ghazipur Police Station, demanding action against Dr. Pushpa Jaiswal for alleged medical negligence. The case has raised serious questions about hospital accountability and post-operative care standards.
