As the political landscape in Uttar Pradesh gears up for the 2027 Assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party (SP) is amplifying its outreach efforts. On Wednesday, the party held a special event titled 'Holi-Eid Milan Sadbhavna Samaroh' at its state headquarters in Lucknow under the 'Aao Gale Mile' initiative. The event aimed to foster interfaith harmony and underline the state's Ganga-Jamuni cultural heritage.

SP national president Akhilesh Yadav was the chief guest, joined by Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav. The event marked a key step in SP’s strategy to strengthen its communal unity message ahead of the upcoming elections.

Diverse Religious Leaders Participate

The event saw participation from leaders representing Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christian communities, who gathered to exchange greetings for both Holi and Eid. The party issued a statement highlighting this symbolic display of togetherness.

Cultural Performance by Brian Silas

Renowned pianist Brian Silas, known for his collaborations with Lata Mangeshkar and Anuradha Paudwal, delivered a musical performance that added a cultural dimension to the gathering. His piano recital included melodies that resonated with the theme of unity and peace.

Akhilesh Yadav's Message on Unity

In his address, Akhilesh Yadav emphasized the importance of preserving India's composite culture. “Our country celebrates all festivals together. Brotherhood and harmony are the core strengths of our society. Today’s program reflects that unity,” he said. The SP chief reiterated the party’s commitment to secularism and inclusive progress.
