In a most odd development, Mumbai police have arrested 35-year-old Singh Sujinder Kumar, a Punjabi resident, for purportedly supplying the police control room with misleading details of a death threat they were investigating for Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. Singh allegedly told the authorities that there was a contract out on the life of a 35-year-old actor who was to be killed with a weapon valued at Rs 2 lakh.
Claiming A Death Threat R charged
Singh made a call to the police control unit on Monday where he made far-reaching his claims that Shroff, the actor famed to participate in martial arts and action movies, was the supposed target of a death threat.
Out the investigations, the Mumbai police remarked Shong claims were blasphemous after carrying out their investigations. Following these claims, a case was lodged against him at Khar police station, situated in the suburbs of Mumbai.
Investigation Followup
Singh allegedly unsubstantiated his allegations with evidence based on loopy claims during the check-up, leading police to liaise with the Punjab police and place him under arrest. Subsequently, it is reported that Singh will moved from Punjab to Mumbai where the procedural hosting of legal actions will begin.
Incident to police shuffling resources around the city is no new phenomenon. For some reason, Tiger Shroff's security details have made the news alongside other Bollywood stars receiving external threats. Mumbai police made their ice cold stance clear to the press regarding made up fiction- we would prefer you don’t waste our time.
Ongoing Threat For Salman Khan
This incident is too ironic to ignore. While Singh was under arrest for reasons I am still trying to discern, Bollywood's ‘bhaijaan’ has been facing unexplainable threats for several years now. The name's no stranger, Salman Khan. Just recently a man from Vadodara district boasting some alleged mental impairment publicly issued a death threat. You guessed it, the actor is now living under government scheduled Y-Plus security.
The threat sent through the whatsapp helpline for Mumbai traffic police's in addition to the disturbance is currently receiving external investigation.
Legal Ramifications for Making Up Threats
Both these incidents showcase the very real consequences of journalism carried out without a professional filter in place. This predicament rather flimsy stands at the idea of claiming police have nothing better to do then waste time on the backed-up fantasies of obsessed fans who make up stories revolving around celebrities.
