
The Indian box office has come under ‘Akaal’s’ attention and concern. Grewal-starring ‘Akaal’ is a blockbuster waiting to happen as it is a Punjabi film. Both the Punjabi and Hindi versions have received a lot of attention and large scale box office opening, but so far has been acting quite dormant.
In stark contrast to earning expectations, ‘Akaal’ only made ₹75 lal on opening day, and just went down from there. They lost ₹60 lakh in the second, bringing their two-day total to an embarrassing figure. Industry experts consider the ambitious two-day gross of ‘Akaal’ critically damaging to its high budget build’s expectations.
Like ‘Akaal’ expected garnering ‘Akaal’ praise as one of the greatest commercial failures in cinema history.

In short, Akaal has received minimal promotional aid, coupled with insufficient chances to market outside the range of Hindi. Hence, earning them relatively squat promotion and publicity not just within the sphere of Hindi, but outside for those who speak Punjabi.
Audience Reaction and Projection
Earlier reviews and buzz have been mediocre, which has further diminished the film’s momentum. The silence surrounding the film has been detrimental for the creators, who will work on trying to save the project over the coming days.
If 'Akaal' does not record substantial increase in earnings during the weekend, it will wrap up its theatrical screening as a box office failure.
