On Monday morning, in his participation for the World Wildlife Day event in Gujarat, Narendra Modi attended a Lion safari at Gir Wildlife Sanctuary. Before that, he spent the night at the Sinh Sadan forest guest house which is located at Sasan, after offering prayers at the Somnath temple on Sunday evening.
The Prime Minister visited the sanctuary with some ministers and other senior officials from the forest service to prepare for the seventh meeting of the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) which took place at Sasan Gir. The board has 47 members which include selected persons from different states and NGOs, and the Chief of Army Staff.
On this special day, he also took the opportunity to post on microblogging platform X – “Today, on #WorldWildlifeDay, let’s reiterate our commitment to protect and preserve the incredible biodiversity of our planet. Every species plays a vital role—let’s safeguard their future for generations to come! We also take pride in India’s contributions towards preserving and protecting wildlife. ”
