After the success of OMG 2, actor Pankaj Tripathi and director Amit Rai are working together again for a new socially relevant and emotionally charged film. The project, which is currently untitled, is already under production and aims to tell a heartfelt story on the themes of human resilience and culture.
Setting and Cultural Staging
The film will be shot in Bihar for 35 days to capture the state’s culture, environment, and their stories. The cast includes national award winners Pawan Malhotra and Geeta Agarwal along with Rajesh Kumar and some of the Bhojpuri cinema’s finest, thus marking the integration of regional and national cinema.
Pankaj Tripathi on Returning to His Roots
As a Bihari, Tripathi expressed his relation to the film.
“Besides being a milestone in my professional career with its ₹180 crore box office OMG 2 was a story that resonated with people deeply. This film brings me home—to the land I belong to and stories I’ve grown up with.”
He talked about the screenplay and their collaboration with Rai calling him because of his well-told and theme-driven narratives.
Amit Rai Remarks on Meaningful Storytelling
Amit Rai noted how working with Tripathi again has captured his excitement, describing the film as a celebration of emotion, humanity, community, and resilience.
“A truly authentic film reproduction can only be achieved by reflecting one's life and surrounding culture; that's why, with the aid of Bihar Film Nigam, we will strive to,” Amit explains.
