Suspense crime, Digital Desk : As the last scheduled deportation of a Pakistani national from Uttar Pradesh approaches, Maryam, the Islamabad native, has issued an impassioned plea to the Indian government. She wishes to be granted the right to remain in the state together with her Indian spouse, Amir, who lives in Khurja, Bulandshahr.

For the last two months, Maryam has resided in Khurja on a short-term visa. She asserted that she applied for a long-term visa with the intent of settling down in India. There has been no official verification regarding the identity of the last remaining Pakistani national set for deportation from Uttar Pradesh, and it is unclear if indeed March is the one facing deportation.

“I don’t want to go back”: Maryam’s Emotional Plea

“I migrated to this country upon marriage. This is my home now,”said Maryam as she narrated how life in her husband and India has been like ever since. “Where my husband lives that is my Home and I want to establish a life there,” she further added.

The woman condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22 which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, mostly tourists. “I am deeply saddened by what happened. The perpetrators should be brought to justice,” she said.

Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Tejveer Singh noted that Maryam had made a request and that it was being looked at by higher officials.

UP Government Steps up in Exiling Pakistani Citizens

After the attack on Pahalgam, the central government issued an order and, claiming to aid, UP said it had ‘deported’ almost every Pakistani national in the state in less than a day. However, there was no clarification on the number of people claimed to be deported or the class of visa they held.

Police sources indicate that the four Pakistani women with short-term visas residing in Bulandshahr have already left the country. For now, Maryam, who is under tight police watch, is the sole Pakistani resident in the district.

State Prepares Elimination of All Aliens Within Territory
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a strategic session with key stakeholders and directed district officials to capture Pakistani civilians and take them to the border without delay. Supported by the state’s press statement, he ‘cleared’ along the lines of ‘only one person remains’ and planned in advance to expel this person on April 30.

Citing direct supervision from the Chief Minister, Prashant Kumar, Director General of Police, attributed the swift process of executing the repatriation order to purposeful guidance from the Chief Minister.
