Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Training launch for the Abdali Weapon system a surface to surface missile with a range of up to 450 kilometers was conducted by Pakistan on Saturday. This exercise took place as part of the ‘Exercise INDUS’ series aimed at validating major operational and technical parameters.

Goals of the launch and specific details of the weapon

As per a statement from Pakistan Army, steps involved in moving the missile to the launch position were completed in order to test the operational functionality of the unit along with other parameters like the advanced guidance unit and propellant motors for enhanced maneuverability. The Abdali weapon is a tactical precision strike system which further strengthens defense capabilities of Pakistan.

COntext and strategic reasons to performing the test

These tests come after the region has gone through an escalation of tension due to the recent terror strikes on civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir which led to 26 civilian casualties. Despite the fact that missile tests are not directly linked with the attack, various analysts consider the test a preparation strategy in response to the increasing strain with India diplomatically.

Reactions to the Leaders

The drone strike was commended by President Asif Ali Zardari along with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as well as other senior military personnel. They congratulated the soldiers, engineers, and scientists who worked on the project, stating that the forceful technical competence of the country’s Strategic Forces was more than evident.

The leaders reiterated that Pakistan does not show any sign of lowering its deterrence for self-defense strategies against any hostile threats which may arise.
