Pyongyang : North Korea is going to launch its first military spy satellite next month. North Korea has made this decision public after informing Japan in this regard. The official in charge of North Korea’s military affairs informed that the main purpose of launching this satellite is to monitor US military action on a timely basis.

A day earlier, North Korea informed Japan that it would launch its first military spy satellite from May 31 to June 11. Now Ri Pyong-cheol, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of the governing Workers’ Party of Korea, has said that North Korea’s scheduled satellite launch is an inevitable move to strengthen preparations for war.

Earlier this month, North Korea said it had completed the necessary preparations to launch the first military surveillance satellite, approving a future plan of action proposed by President Kim Jong-un. At the same time, North Korea has pledged to build advanced weapons, including a solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile, a nuclear-powered submarine and a military reconnaissance satellite.
