UPI Circle of BHIM: As a means for NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a subsidary of NPCI, to enhance the convenience and safety of digital payments, a new feature called ‘UPI Circle’ has been incorporated into the BHIM app. It enables users to permit select trusted individuals to carry out UPI transactions with them maintaining complete transparency and control.
Five subordinate users can be included.
Any primary user of the account (the UPI Master Account) can through UPI Circle enable a maximum of five subordinate users to perform transactions from a single account. The prerequisite for all transactions however, is consent from the primary user using UPI PIN in the BHIM app, which authenticates the transaction. It aids in controlling definable limits on the processes executed.
Target audience for this feature.
Elderly citizens:
Authorization for payment can be done by a family member on their behalf.
Youth and Students:
Provide them with flexible and restricted power which parents may control.
Small Business Merchants:
Merchants may grant payments to staff while retaining supervision.
Users with low digital knowledge:
For those who are uncomfortable with using unforgiving online payment interfaces, this can function as ideal aid.
A split expenses feature alongside family mode, spends dashboard, multi-language support and circle feature has been added in the new BHIM app update 4.0.2.
